The Gospel of Luke focuses a lot of attention on Jesus’ ministry to marginalized and disenfranchised people (women, the poor, Samaritans, moral outcasts, etc.). Luke continues this theme in the book of Acts. When Jerusalem rejected the Gospel and persecuted the church, Jesus recruited people like Philip to proclaim the Gospel to the disenfranchised (Samaritans, the demon possessed, practitioners of magic, and a eunuch). Jesus is recruiting us to take the Gospel to the marginalized and disenfranchised. Are we willing to realign our lives with his mission?

PRIMARY TEXT FOR THIS MESSAGE:
“Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing." (Acts 8:35-39, ESV)
