We begin by reiterating the chiastic structure of
Matthew 24. The question about the signs of His coming are answered first and we are still studying the section where it is answered. All of these signs are within Daniel's 70th week. This section describes the worst time in history that the world will ever experience. We contrast that with the utopian claims of postmodern theology. Many contemporary, religious people reject any idea of God's future judgment. We discuss how German philosophical and religious idealism led to the horrors of WW II. The Bible tells us that the world is not headed toward paradise, but judgment. We also discuss how the midpoint of the tribulation involves the Antichrist setting himself up and demanding worship. This event starts the last three and one half years of the tribulation period. Pastor Eric explains how these verses in
Matthew 24 correlate to the book of Revelation. We warn about the present danger of those who teach "Christ-consciousness" rather than the biblical Christ. We also warn against boundary crossing which was judged in the past by the Flood and will be judged in the future as it happens again. We see this already happening in our society.
