This is the 16th sermon in a series of sermons through 1 & 2 Timothy. The following was recorded at Island Baptist Church in Beach Haven, NJ. Visit us on the web at www.hopeoflbi.com.

There is a sense in which every local church is a community of runners all progressing toward the same finish line, and that finish line is Christ Himself. We are a "people in progress" and that progress will not reach its completion until the Race has ended. The Pastor of every local church is a "pacesetter" running out in front of his congregation, "so that all may see his progress" (1Tim4:15). In this 5th and final instalment, of a series of messages entitled, "God's Portrait of a Pastor," we'll examine the significance of a pastor's own personal pursuit of progress.
