Sermon preached at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church (Sioux Falls, SD) by Pr. Benjamin Tomczak.
God’s Word shows you that you always have storms, but you always have promises. On the other side of the storm is Christ. Paul lived. The disciples survived. Job came out even more blessed. More, Christ isn’t just on the other side. Christ is in the storm. Think of Ps 23, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” There is Christ, in our flesh, in our crosses, on our cross. He doesn’t sleep. He goes into the storm, into God’s great sea, on your tiny boat, your flesh, and says, “Be still.”
