Psalm 119:17-24 Gimel NKJV
Another amazing passage of Scripture, isn't it? I love the intro - the Psalmist is basically saying "You would deal bountifully with me if you'd give me just two things: let me live, and let me keep Your Word." Don't you just love the simplicity of Christ? It's so basic and straight forward.
And yet, it requires our eyes to be opened. What insight he has to say "open my eyes that I may see wonderous things in Your law." We can read the Bible all day long and it's just words on the page. But when our eyes are opened, when the Holy Spirit, the Breath of God, breathes life into us through those words, it changes things altogether. The Bible becomes a living voice - that same voice that said "Let there be..." in the beginning.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see wonderous things in Your law!
