Although King James Onlyists and use Ps 12:6-7 as the proof text of God preserving the text of Scripture in none other than the English translation thereof, namely the Authorized Version, the text in fact does not speak about preserving Scripture at all - much less the venerable AV. The surrounding context defines what the words of Yahweh are, and what is the object of His preservation.


Psalm 12
Save, O Yahweh, for the holy man ceases to be,
For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
They speak worthlessness to one another;
With a flattering lip and with a double heart they speak.
May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips,
The tongue that speaks great things;
