PSALM 80: A Prayer for Restoration
The psalmist appeals to God, the “Shepherd of Israel,” to save His people (80:1–3). Israel is experiencing God’s anger (discipline) (vv. 4–7), for He has withdrawn His protection (vv. 8–16). Again Asaph asks God to restore His people that they may be saved (vv. 17–19).
