While prophecy is real, the prophetic is intended to say what God has said, not to bring attention to the individuals through whom God speaks. In fact, Jeremiah wound up in prison simply because he said what God told him to say. We do not come into maturity because of words that make us feel good; maturity comes because we are challenged by, and live, The Word of God.
