I’ve heard people say that the church needs to stay out of the fight for social injustice, because it’s a political battle. But they couldn’t be more wrong. Injustice isn’t a political fight, it’s a spiritual battle.

Luke 3:19: John also publicly criticized Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, for marrying Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for many other wrongs he had done.

John the Baptist was the most prolific preacher at the time, and he publicly denounced the evils of Herod, the ruler of his nation. Was John getting political? No. But he forcefully stood for truth against the evil of a political leader. When you stand against political leaders of injustice, you are not being political, you are being Christian.
