When the spirit of a nation—or a person—is broken, truth gives way to bitterness, and unity gives way to pain. Proverbs 18:14 reminds us, “The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” Rejection has a way of wounding deeply—whether it’s from a parent, a spouse, a friend, or life itself. But there is One who understands the depth of that pain. Jesus was despised and rejected by men, yet He loved us before we loved Him. His command remains unchanged: “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12 NKJV).
Love is not just what you say; love is what you do. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1 NKJV). You may have great faith, generous works, or spiritual gifts—but without love, it amounts to nothing. Today, ask yourself: Who do you love? What are you doing to express that love? Don’t let anyone cross your path without feeling the compassion of Christ through you. Where rejection once ruled, let God’s divine acceptance reign.
