John provides us with a powerful image of what happens when we pray. Like the smoke that rises from a bowl of burning incense, so the prayers of the saints rise to God’s throne. This section begins with this interlude and seems to be the catalyst that kicks off the next sequence of trumpets and plagues upon the earth.

Where do our prayers fit in all this? And what is going on with all these plagues?!

I’ll try and provide biblical references I couldn’t cover in the 7-minute format here. If you want to ponder these, I’d love to hear your insights and questions in the comments!

BIBLICAL REFERENCES IN THE BACKGROUND THIS TIME:

Psalm 141:1-2
Leviticus 16:12-13
Exodus 7-10
Joshua 6
