This passage is one of the great summaries of Paul’s gospel. It focuses on God’s provision of salvation for sinners through the death of Jesus and the gift of righteousness. Paul also returns to the fact that this way of salvation through faith in Jesus is not a new idea. This way of salvation is in line with what God has always promised in the Scriptures.
