In this passage Paul’s underlines his teaching that God has the final decision when it comes to a relationship with Him. He explains that God’s dealings with Israel were always for the sake of the world. Nor did God treat Israel unfairly, for His patience toward them was immense. And because of God’s grace, a remnant was always persevered even when the nation turned away from God.
