5:7-8 Christ died for sinners, not for the righteous or for the good (Matthew 9:12-13; Hosea 6:6).
We were enemies of God (5:10).
We receive God’s love when we are saved; we give God’s love out after we have gone through trials.
5:9,11 We have NOW been justified by His blood and have NOW received the atonement.
You are judged once you die (Hebrews 9:27-28).
When you believe the gospel, ye are dead, and Christ is your life (Colossians 3:3-4; Galatians 2:20). This enables God to justify you by Christ’s blood.
5:10 “WERE reconciled” shows that it is in the past.
This is why eternal security is true: “Much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (5:10).
If we are not eternally secure, we are not reconciled to God. Therefore, we have to work on being reconciled, rather than being saved from the course of this world by Christ’s life.
