Questions for Reflection and Discussion:
1. Do you find it easier or harder to submit to governing authorities and masters (employers/managers) because the word of God instructs you to do so?
2. Peter and the early church sat in the tension of obeying God and obeying governing authorities, and found balance through prayer and submission to God. What does that tension look like for the church in our day, and how can the church find the balance and obey God and governing authorities?
3. The call to obey masters is one for every believer in Christ. In your current employment (whatever form it is in) how do you obediently submit to masters as called to in the word of God?
4. How do you see your co-workers and friends reacting to your submission to the Lord in the work place and as a citizen of this world? Do they see it at all?

This week, re-read 1st Peter 2:13-25 and pray through the truths you find while reading. Find someone to discuss these chapters with, and share the word with someone you don't know as well.
