Galatians 3:17-18 (KJV) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
This expository sermon on Galatians 3:17-18 explains the promise and the 2 ways the covenant was confirmed before God.
This sermon also includes an illustration and meaning of Genesis 15:12 where God walks through the sacrifice.
The Bible says in Genesis 15:12 (KJV) And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
Finally, you'll get a practical application of what it means at the end of Genesis 15:12 when it says: an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
