Introduction: (What?)
The word “reckon” has two meanings. I grew up in an area where people would say “I reckon so” about something which meant “I consider it to be so”. That is one meaning. The other meaning comes from the word “reconcile” which means to make things agree. Therefore we “reconcile” our check book so that our account of what we have matches the bank’s account. By the way, the bank’s account trumps yours every time. There will come a day when we all will “reap what we have sown”; a day of reckoning; a day when God’s account determines what happens to us.
