Luke introduces Jesus' ministry in chapter 4 of his gospel by focusing in on Jesus reading of the prophet Isaiah. Why did Luke choose this particular verse? How is this relevant for the church today?

Preacher's Note: In sermon notes I had written that Jesus was "anointed and sent" in regards to Luke 4:18 but in the sermon I said Jesus was "called and sent" when in fact I meant the former.
