The Fruit of the Spirit is MEEKNESS!
Gal. 5:22-23, Exodus 14:10-18, Philippians 2:5-11
Part 2
Introduction
Thank You all SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS!! Angiogram revealed no blockage in coronary arteries. Praise YHWH!
Most of us – maybe all of us are distressed and even frightened by the bizarre things taking place in America today. But PTK would like to encourage you today – don’t be deceived by the enemy. Take heart, be of good courage and stand firm. YHWH’s Word has already told us about all this, and YHWH has it all under His control and in His good plan. PTK will remind of the story of the Exodus – and Moses and the people at the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army in hot pursuit. This is the point in time when they all needed “MEEKNESS.” Moses had it – the Children of Israel did not! Meekness is a marvelous quality. Let’s learn more about it!
The Fruit of the Spirit is MEEKNESS
Why “meekness” and not “gentleness”? What it means!
The Greek word (praus, prautays) means ‘meekness’ – not “gentleness” – as seen in its usage in the New Testament
Who it describes?
Jesus, The Christ
Why is it Important for you/me?
Philippians 2:5-11 – Four main points
V. 6 – before the incarnation
V. 7 and 8a – “He emptied Himself” (NASB)
V. 8 (the rest of it) – “He humbled Himself…”
Vv. 9-11 – God has HIGHLY EXALTED HIM…!
How do I “get it”?
Timeless Truth
We have been long deceived into thinking that MEEKNESS is weakness and something very negative. Therefore, we have completely misunderstood the 8th Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Gentleness (as it has been translated by all the translations) is a good thing – when applied in certain situations. But it is certainly not always appropriate. BUT properly understood, MEEKNESS is always, ALWAYS, an appropriate, godly, and good quality that pleases and honors YHWH.
Living Lesson
Having the mind of Christ (commanded of us in Phil 2:5) involves understanding what MEEKNESS is and how it behaves. First and foremost, it gives us strength and confidence in YHWH to entrust ourselves to Him and to His Will for our lives. Many times – probably most times – His will seems to be unpleasant and even horrible to us. BUT when we obey Him, we will always find His will to be a great blessing in our lives and those of others, as well as a source of great joy and fulfillment.

(and give you PEACE).
