Drinking from spring water at the foothills of the Andes is not the same as drinking water from a pipe out of the sewer. Likewise, the fruit of a well-labored orchard is not the same as one that has been neglected. We often obsess over results in our world but it is also worthwhile to look at the source. As we contrast the fruits of the Spirit with the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-25, we will see the difference between a life that walks with Jesus and is transformed by the Holy Spirit (where we are being led) with a life that continues to follow in its desires (where we come from).
