The Gospel preached by Paul did not have its source in man but came directly from Christ. The authentic Gospel of grace puts its focus on the perfect sacrifice of Jesus and there is nothing to add to it. The gospel is diluted and altered when man adds to what Jesus has accomplished. Traditions are poor substitutes for relationship. When we move from done to do we put the focus upon ourselves and we become religious, putting aside a responsive relationship with His indwelling presence to what we are doing for Him and how we are striving for a righteousness apart from Him. Paul was convinced he was serving the will of God while persecuting the church until he met Jesus on the road to Damascus and there he understood his own brokenness and need for a Savior. The true Gospel is always about the Christ and the gospel of men is focused on the Christian.
