James 1: 5 admonishes us to ask GOD for wisdom. Why? It has loads of benefits. For example, GOD’s wisdom is from above. It is pure, peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated. It is full of mercy, good fruits, without partiality and hypocrisy (James 3: 17). Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God to those who are called, whether Jews or Greek.
