Isaiah here describes the reign of Jesus as the Lamb of God. When Jesus was early in His ministry John the Baptist pointed his followers to Jesus and proclaimed, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." But the Jewish people weren't looking for a lamb they were looking for a great king who would overthrow the power of Rome. They didn't realize that Jesus had a more urgent issue to deal with than Rome. He came to deal with our sin. He reign over us and one day over all of creation as the Lamb. He reigns with a steadfast love and welcomes all the rejected and broken hearted.
