The gospel is the most important message for everyone to hear and believe. Our Lord gave us the commission to spread the gospel through teaching and discipleship (Matthew 28:18-20). Paul took this command very seriously. After the Lord saved him from sin, he devoted his life to preaching and teaching the gospel to as many people as possible (his devotion to evangelism). As he continues introducing his treatise on the gospel, he mentions three essential components of the gospel message that we must understand. These are as follows:

Component #1: Promise of God (v. 2)
Component #2: Revelation by God (vv. 3-4)
Component #3: Blessing from God (vv. 5-7)
