Introduction: (What?)
I once went to a dentist who was a great believer in “mind over matter”. In other words, he believed that will power could overcome physical obstacles, including pain. Once he showed me a film of a woman having a Caesarian section without anesthesia. She even sang throughout the procedure. I never bought into his belief by-the-way.
In the passage we consider today we will see Zion giving birth painlessly and even before labor begins. We will see how this has, is and will play out spiritually.

Examination: (Why?)
1. Birth of a nation; birth of the church (vv7-9)

2. Nurture of a new-born (vv10-13)

3. True vs False worshipers (vv14-24)

Application: (How does this affect my life today?)
