"Too Blessed to Be Beset", Judges 14:1-4 (Sermon Series- "Samson: A Wasted Life of Power") - Pastor, Dr. Jerome F. Coleman

-Don't say you wouldn't have done what Adam and Eve did, because many of us have done and/or do what they did. We go after the one thing God says we can't have.

-Whenever God taps you to go in one direction and you go the other way, the only way you can go is down.

-When you allow the waves of your feelings to beat against you, it'll break you down to less than what you're supposed to be.

-"Samson went down".

-When your sin takes you down, it takes down whoever and whatever that's attached to you.

-Samson's issue was lust, not love.

-When the devil can't get you from the womb or your infancy, in your immaturity he'll hit you with a sin.

-The besetting sin is the sin you've been dealing with your entire life. Sometimes sin has been with you so long, you'll think "it's just who I am".

-You can't beat it, but you can subdue it. You always have to be on the lookout for it.

-You are not your besetting sin.

-You will not become what God has called you to be until you come in agreement with God.

-Parents, you are not your child's friends. You will give room for their besetting sin to set in. Don't give up your responsibility as a parent.

-God is not against mixed marriages, He's against mixed faiths.

-It's better to be single than to wish you were.

-Even if there's an area of your life where you don't let God rule, God can overrule you.

-You're either going to be used by God or used of God.

-You are not meant to succumb to your besetting sin. You have to walk in your purpose and calling.

-A besetting sin is a sin you don't have to be tempted by, but you make opportunity for it. You keep falling in your besetting sin because you're not walking in your calling.
