Sid and Sarah read today from Luke chapter 17 verses 11 to 19.  You can find this in The Beginners Bible from page 405.

Can there be happiness and joy, even in the midst of pandemics, financial uncertainty and loss?   It's the sort of issue that keeps us awake at night, government departments work on and advertisers exploit.  As parents, I reckon we all have had that nagging thought of 'What if my child isn't happy?'.

Our verse in this series clearly states that God gives us joy as part of his kindness to us, showing us he is real.  As we read the Bible, we see that ultimately, real joy and happiness come not through having the things God has made, but through knowing him personally.

Jesus describes people as being like sheep (the more you think about that one, the more sense it makes!)  'Sheep' who follow him, listening to and trusting him are ultimately safe and cared for both now and for eternity.  As he said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." You can read this in John chapter 10, in the Bible.

As a Tots team, we would love to help you know the One who gives a joy which cannot be taken away - do message us if we can do that!  Tots@cchh.org.uk
