We've all had our children around us more than usual recently, haven't we? And I reckon most (all?) of us have had moments of wondering why it is that our children seem to notice and comment more when something isn't right or food is late, rather than acknowledging the daily care and work we do for them!
Just as Sid was more interested in the things his Aunt had sent him than in knowing more about her, we can be so busy enjoying the good things God has given us, that we ignore him. Or maybe we feel fed up that things we wanted are not there or As We Wanted, and so we turn away from God. And the tragedy is that in doing this we are cut off from the One who made us, knows us, loves us, gives us all good things and knows what is right and the best way for us to live.
How wonderful to know that Jesus says we can to come back to God and know his forgiveness and love as Father. In Luke 15:11-32, we can read the story Jesus told of two sons and their amazing Father. Why not have a read for yourself and see how the Father welcomes those who come to him through Jesus?
You can find this story told for children in The Beginners Bible from page 397.
As a Tots team, we would love to help you know the One who gives us all good things and is real, even though we cannot see him - do message us if we can do that! Tots@cchh.org.uk
