What does victory actually look like in a fallen world like this for a Christian? Victory is not realizing all of your goals and dreams and ambitions in this life. Victory is not succeeding in every arena of life. Victory is realizing that even though you suffer now, you will be victorious in the end. Victory is realizing that despite present suffering and affliction, you will be vindicated and victorious in eternity because of Jesus’ victory over sin, Satan, and death by his atoning death in your place and triumphant resurrection over them.

Victory is taking hold of Christ’s victorious triumph over every enemy and the incredible promise you have by faith in him—that no one or nothing—not Satan—not the forces of darkness—not people—not your enemies—nothing can take away from you—heaven.

Remembering and holding on to this very real and true and secure hope we have in Christ in the midst of suffering is the secret to having victory even in the thick of it. It's victory through suffering.
