Joshua 19:47-48 When the Going Gets Tough

“When the territory of the people of Dan was lost to them, the people of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and after capturing it and striking it with the sword they took possession of it and settled in it, calling Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their ancestor. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Dan, according to their clans—these cities with their villages.”

Notes:
While our inheritance comes with a ____________________ it also requires __________________ on our part.

Orphan Mindset vs Daughter Mindset
We get to trade competition and performance for ______________________.

We get to trade independence and isolation for ________________________.

We get to trade fear and insecurity for _______________________.

Romans 8:15 “For we have not received a spirit of slavery and bondage, these propensities leading again to fear, but we have received the Spirit of adoption as sons and daughters the Spirit producing sonship by which we joyfully cry, “Abba! (Dad) Father!”

Warning: When we choose to live as orphans we can forfeit, bypass, squander, and flat out deny our inheritance as daughters.

Icebreaker: Does your family partake in the traditional family thanksgiving feast or do you have a different tradition? What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Questions:
1. What is one area, you would like to share, where God has been challenging you (specifically) in 2020? Is there something He has been inviting you to say yes to or something He has been telling you to surrender?

2.“While our inheritance comes with a blessing it also requires action on our part.” What does this mean to you, right now, as it pertains to your answer in the question above?

3.When it comes to operating out of an “Orphan Mindset” vs operating out of the “Daughter Mindset” which of the three do you struggle with the most and why?

4.Where may you be settling where God is reminding you to “Keep Going!” and “Fight Sis, Fight!”?

Key Takeaway: Don’t settle for crumbs when you have been called to feast!
