Our culture is increasingly reluctant to submit to authority, and it’s as rampant within the Church as in secular culture. The challenge for God’s people is that our faith is intended to impact our culture, and the real essence of our faith is who we submit to as our primary authority. Well, the great liberator of humanity is Jesus of Nazareth, not a political idea or party. He is our Boss, and we submit to His authority in our lives. God’s people are meant to be a light in the darkness and a voice for the truth. And in any culture, as godliness is restored, human dignity increases, along with what we value most—freedom, truth, justice, hope, and righteousness. Scripture is clear: “Righteousness exalts a nation.” “The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.” — Isaiah 32:17 & Proverbs 14:34 (NIV)
