Before discussing the land west of the Jordan River that would be handed out to Israel, the writer of Joshua must first discuss the land already given out to two and a half tribes east of the Jordan so that Israel would have another record of how they obtained that land. They start with the tribe of Reuben, Jacob's firstborn. What land was given to this tribe? In Lesson 33 of our study of Joshua we learn the answer to this question.
