Yeshua tells us to observe and do whatever those sitting in Moses' seat (the scribes and Pharisees) say. What is the seat of Moses? Are we really expected to do everything they say? How does His statement square with His previous advice to "beware the leaven (doctrine) of the Pharisees"? How are Hebrew Roots and Messianic believers to respond to rabbinic teaching and the Oral Law? Or should the word "they" actually be "he" (referring to Moses)?
