In John 14:13, Jesus said,

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
(John 14:13)

Isn’t that an amazing statement. I have often come back to this promise to encourage my faith in some of the most difficult times of my life. But I know that it can seem a little too good to be true. It can seem a little too amazing. Some will say it's not true. Others will say that it doesn't really mean what it says. And so I want to talk about this verse in context so that we can get a better idea of what Jesus meant and thereby allow it to encourage us to keep trusting Christ in faith as we bring our needs before the throne of God in prayer.
