Chuck Smith was born and raised in Ventura, California, in a Christian home, under the strong influence of a godly, praying mother an outgoing, evangelistic, salesman father. In 1942, at 15 years old, Chuck made a life commitment to Christian service at a church camp. He grew up in the Foursquare Church, went to Bible College at Life Bible College. Upon graduation, he met and married Kay.  

In 1967 Chuck and Kay noticed the cultural changes occurring in their area. Thru the power of the Holy Spirit God graciously used Chuck & Kay to reach hippies, surfers and their families from coast to coast.

Throughout his ministry, Pastor Chuck always pointed people back to God. Knowing the church was the Lord’s work never accepting the credit for what the Lord had done.  “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit”.  All power and glory belong to the Lord, now and forever.
