What made Daniel stand apart from everyone else? He had an excellent spirit.

It was never Daniel’s motive to just do something and get it done; he always wanted to do it right.

There is so much pressure today and we wear so many different hats – from raising our children, to how we cook our food, the way we take care of our homes, our personal hygiene, to running our business, paying our bills – it can be overwhelming. It all gets in the same blender.

So often, we’re just happy to get something done, but are we doing things with excellence?

Maybe you painted something – did you do it with excellence?
You folded those clothes and put them in the drawer – did you do it with excellence?
You hurried and put the groceries away, but was it done with excellence?
You finished the report for school, but was it done with excellence?

This verse, along with many other verses, shows that it’s not just about getting something done. It’s about getting it done right.

Think about it today and this week – what are you doing with excellence? When you’re completing that task, how would you do it for the Lord?

So often we pat ourselves on the back thinking, “I got that done!” But was it done right?

It’s better to get less done with excellence, than a lot done with no excellence. Why? In this verse it says it made Daniel stand apart and he was promoted over all the other princes and presidents and was set over everything the king had.

Promotion is waiting for you! It really is, and it’s in some small areas that you may think aren’t important.
