Counting the Cost

As we have continued in our study of the gospel of Matthew, we are seeing that Jesus is inviting everyone to follow Him. The question we will be discussing today is what is involved when Jesus calls us to follow Him? Join us as we study Matthew 8:18-27 and take a deeper look at what it means to be a disciple of Christ! (39:45)

Our Sunday morning worship services are comprised of verse-by-verse Bible teaching, Christ-centered worship and a time of congregational prayer. Gather with us in-person at 9 or 11 am or online at 10 am on Sunday morning, or watch anytime, at thevillagechapel.com.

(5:15) Call to Worship: Psalm 111

Praise the LORD!
I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.

Great are the works of the LORD;
They are studied by all who delight in them.
Splendid and majestic is His work,
And His righteousness endures forever.

He has made His wonders to be remembered;
The LORD is gracious and compassionate.
He will remember His covenant forever.
He has made known to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations.

The works of His hands are truth and justice;
All His precepts are sure.
They are upheld forever and ever;
They are performed in truth and uprightness.

He has sent redemption to His people.
He has ordained His covenant forever.
Holy and awesome is His name.

(38:10) Creed: The Apostles’ Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Amen.
