Roger Ellis shared this message on November 24, 2019 as a part of our Win | Win series through Philippians!
In the spring of 2019, we did a series on contentment entitled: “I Wish You Enough.” Our working definition was as follows... “Living life in such a way that we recognize that our worth, our significance, our peace, and our joy do not spring from an abundance of things, accomplishments or circumstances... but rather from being rightly connected to the Shepherd.”
• Psalm 23
• Proverbs 30
• Philippians 4:12-13
~Contentment is learned.
~Contentment is a mystery.
~Contentment is possible.
The teaching on contentment here in Philippians 4 is wrapped in a paragraph on
generosity. What does generosity look like?
1. Generosity looks for opportunities to meet real needs (Phil. 4:10-11).
2. Generosity is a way of life (Phil. 4:14-18).
3. Generosity is pleasing to God (Phil. 4:18-19).
God will provide what I need to live,
& God will provide what I need to give.
