Temptation is a part of everyday life, so what does the Bible say on how to combat it? Matthew 4 tells us the Spirit compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness where he would fast 40 days and suffer temptation from Satan himself. Jesus being fully God and fully human was tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin (Hebrews 4:15). He was victorious over the enemy and temptation and the Believer can be victorious as well in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the king James Bible is the inspired and  preserved word of God (2 Tim 3:16 KJV). We believe that “rightly dividing the word of truth” is the key to understanding the Bible (2 Tim 2:15 KJV). All Scripture is for us, but it was not all written to and about us. To “rightly divide the word of truth” is to recognize, and maintain the divisions that God clearly put in the scriptures. The main division being the prophetic physical earthly “Kingdom of Heaven” (The Nation of Israel), and the spiritual heavenly “Kingdom of God” (The Church-The Body of Christ) which was a mystery  kept secret since the world began and revealed by the apostle Paul (Rom 16:25). Christ chose Paul to be the pattern and spokesman for the body of Christ to follow in this dispensation.

*So by telling Jesus to do this he is trying to get Jesus to come in the clouds of heaven before he has been offered for sins and has sat down at the right hand of God 
 
One day he will come in the clouds but not out of order 
 
So his response = Matt 4:7 “It is written” thou shalt not tempt the Lord your God
