Ben Ammi ben-Israel; a former Chicago metal worker who led a migration(Exodus) of hundreds of fellow black Americans to what they knew as their ancestral homeland, Israel, Dec. 27, 2014 on Saturday in a hospital in Be'ersheba, Israel. He was 75. 
 
As years passed and more followers made their way to the African Hebrew compound in Dimona, overstaying tourist visas. Tensions flared anew on April 17, 1986, (scene recorded above)when the police surrounded the village to prevent a planned protest march. Mr. Ben-Israel made an impassioned proclamation of strength to his followers but without the inflammatory talk of earlier years, and they did not push ahead with the march.

I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving-kindness (Jeremiah 31:3). I will build you up again, and you will be rebuilt, oh Israel. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful (Jeremiah 31:4). Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria, the farmers will plant them and enjoy their fruit (Jeremiah 31:5). There will be a day when the watchmen cry out “Come, let us go to Zion, to the Lord our God” (Jeremiah 31:6). Thought for today: enjoy the abundance of God’s gifts, but never forget the Giver.
