One day Scott discussed forgiveness in a Christian education class with fifth and sixth graders. One child had just been hurt by another. Name-calling began; voices were raised. There was a real opportunity to try out biblical principles. After addressing this situation, Scott asked the group what it meant to forgive. The child who had been offended said, "Forgiveness is taking someone's sadness and throwing it away." We think that's a great definition of forgiveness. Jesus takes this definition one step further in Luke 22 when he forgives Peter before Peter betrays him. 
 
1. What kinds of people and situations are difficult for you to forgive?
