As we stretch across Arkansas, we remain one house believing for the next one to come to Jesus. We exist to connect people to the heart of God, the salvation of Jesus, and the family within His church.

New Life Church

In tomorrow's reading, Paul will correct some of the heretical teachings that were spreading through the church at Colossae. Today, however, we see him warning them against letting "hollow and deceptive philosophy" inform their beliefs and reminding them of the true gospel message: Though we were dead in our transgressions, Christ made us alive in Him and erased our debt. This passage specifically says that he nailed our sins and debt to the cross. This is the good news!

What deceptive philosophy do you see running rampant in our culture today? What does scripture say instead? 
 
Take time to reflect on the weight of Jesus' sacrifice for us. Thank Him for His victory over sin and death.

Continuing our current sermon series, A Maturing Church, Kylen Perry, Young Adults Director, explains how Colossians 2:6-15 shows us what it means to live fully alive in Christ. Paul makes it clear in this passage that you don't need more than Jesus, you need more of Jesus. The whole fullness of deity dwells bodily in Christ, and we have been filled in Him. Therefore, those who are alive in Christ already are rooted in Him, built up in Him, established in Him and compelled to thankfulness in the truth of the gospel. In Christ, we are forgiven and fully free from regret from our past, debt for our sin, and the threat of the enemy. If you want greater maturity in life, then you need greater clarity of Christ.
