The Book of Hebrews issues several warnings to the "holy brothers" to whom it is addressed. The believers being written to were Jewish Christians who had received Christ, been baptized in water, been filled with the Holy Spirit, and had been persecuted. You would think they had their ticket to Heaven. But the writer of Hebrew warns them sternly that they are neglecting to press into the rest of God.
