Kay Arthur

Kay Arthur is an international Bible teacher, four-time Gold Medallion award-winning author, and founder of Precept Ministries International.

Kay and her husband, Jack, were serving as missionaries in Mexico in the late 1960s when medical problems forced them to return to their hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. There Kay led a Bible study for teenagers in their living room. Soon the Bible study started meeting in a barn and attracting adults too. Soon after, Jack left his radio career to help expand his wife’s ministry into Precept Ministries International.

Hundreds of thousands of people are reached internationally through the "Precept upon Precept" inductive Bible studies series. In addition, Kay Arthur hosts daily and weekly television programs which air on over 900 stations in 30 countries around the world.

Kay also founded Transform Student Ministries. Transform Student Ministries is an equipping outreach of Precept Ministries International to high school and college age students. They exist to fulfill Precept’s mission and vision to each new generation: To establish people in God’s Word.

God is in control, and therefore in EVERYTHING I can give thanks - not because of the situation but because of the One who directs and rules over it.

Our society is filled with runaways, dropouts, and quitters. The epidemic of walking away has hit our land with effects as devastating as the bubonic plague, and it has destroyed millions of effective lives and relationships. We are so self-centred that we have ceased to lay down our lives for others. We have seen others faint or walk away and we have followed in their weakness. We have fainted when we could have persevered by exchanging our strength for His! With His strength, not only could we have kept on walking, we could have run!

Deuteronomy 6:6, 7: These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.20

God sent His Son—His only begotten Son, born of a virgin (and therefore without the sin that every human has at birth)—to die for our sins.

Christianity isn’t a religion, it’s a relationship. And as we all know, a relationship requires a high commitment to communication.

Serving God, valuable as that might be, is no substitute for knowing Him and communicating with Him. Real service flows out of relationship, not obligation.

The word for baptized in the Greek5 is baptizmo—and it means “to dip, immerse, to submerge for religious purposes, overwhelm, saturate, baptize.” It carries with it the idea of identification, of being united with someone or something. Compare Acts 1:5 with 1:8. When the apostles were baptized with the Holy Spirit, what would the Holy Spirit do through them?

Are you weak? Weary? Confused? Troubled? Pressured? How is your relationship with God? Is it held in its place of priority? I believe the greater the pressure, the greater your need for time alone with Him.

attained. You will be, as Paul would say, pressing on and attaining that for which Jesus Christ laid hold of you. Which brings me to my next point—an avenue of ministry. What you have learned, God intends for you to share. I have a vision, and you, Beloved, are part of that vision. Our Lord’s commission in Matthew 28 was that we make disciples of all men—that we teach them

Why should I ever resist any delay or disapointment, any affliction or oppression or humiliation - when I know God will use it in my life to make me like Jesus and to prepare me for heaven?

So many times we say that we can't serve God because we aren't whatever is needed. We're not talented enough or smart enough or whatever. But if you are in covenant with Jesus Christ, He is responsible for covering your weaknesses, for being your strength. He will give you His abilities for your disabilities!

He resolved to never lose hope - not as long as breath was left in his body. And when death did come, he would release life in hope of the resurrection.

The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say, "Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine. I trust You to be God. You lead me today and I will follow."

If you do not plan to live the Christian life totally committed to knowing your God and to walking in obedience to Him, then don't begin, for this is what Christianity is all about. It is a change of citizenship, a change of governments, a change of allegiance. If you have no intention of letting Christ rule your life, then forget Christianity; it is not for you.

If sheep do not have the constant care of a shepherd, they will go the wrong way, unaware of the dangers at hand. They have been known to nibble themselves right off the side of a mountain. And so, because sheep are sheep, they need shepherds to care for them. The welfare of sheep depends solely upon the care they get from their shepherd. Therefore, the better the shepherd, the healthier the sheep.

God knows what each one of us is dealing with. He knows our pressures. He knows our conflicts. And He has made a provision for each and every one of them. That provision is Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit, indwelling us and empowering us to respond rightly.
