God selects the youngest of eight sons to be king, and Samuel anoints him in the presence of his siblings. Being oldest doesn't always mean getting the prime slot. God often turns our expectations around 180 degrees from what we would normally expect. God promised to be with David in a special way from the day of his anointing.
