Misery loves company! That old expression is used to describe those who have the desire to share their misfortunes with others. Strangely, some find satisfaction knowing that others are suffering right along with them. At the end of the gospel of John, Jesus gave Peter some insight into his future. It did not sound good! Peter's response was to ask the Lord about another disciple, John: "What would happen to him?" The Master's response was simple and reminded Peter that what happened to others was not his concern. What Peter needed to do was make sure HE was focused on HIS faithfulness to the Savior. Are we ever distracted from our spiritual journey because we are too involved in the affairs of others? Perhaps, we need to focus on our lives and make sure WE are focused on OUR faithfulness to the Savior.
