This Sunday, we will continue to focus on David's life as we look at the friendship between him and King Saul's son, Jonathan.

Jonathan and David are good examples of how friends treat one another. They should love, honor, and care for one another and encourage and help them in tough times. Jonathan could have been upset and jealous that David would be king instead of him. After all, he was the next in line to be king. However God anointed David to be king and Jonathan knew that he must follow God.

Even though we know having good friends is great, Jesus is the ultimate friend...He is the mighty friend of sinners. In John 15:15, Jesus calls us his friends. He gave up His place in heaven to come down to us and gave up His life to save us. He is our perfect friend. He never fails us, always loves us and will never leave us.
