Jesus was still traveling around teaching people and healing people who came to Him. There was a blind man named Bartimaeus who sat by the road and begged for food or money.

He heard lots of people talking and laughing as Jesus and the others walked along the road as they left Jericho. As he heard Jesus’ name spoken, he cried out “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”. People around him told him to be quiet but he continued to cry out to Jesus. Jesus stopped at that very moment and told the others with him to call for the man to come to Him. They told the blind man to get up. He immediately got up and made his way to Jesus. Jesus asked the blind man what he wanted Him to do for him. Bartimaeus said to Him, “Lord, I want to see.” He so wanted help and he believed that Jesus was the one could help him. He healed Bartimaeus’ eyes so that he could see! He knew that Bartimaeus truly believed that Jesus could help him – Bartimaeus had faith in Jesus. Not only did Bartimaeus have faith in Jesus and Jesus healed his eyes, but Bartimaeus immediately began to follow Jesus on the road.
