Jesus and the disciples were heading off to spend some time alone resting, however, Jesus couldn't escape the crowd. This time, a Gentile woman came to Jesus and fell at His feet. She was a desperate mother begging Jesus to cast an unclean spirit out of her daughter. She had tried everything but knew that Jesus could help. Jesus said, “Let the children be fed first, because it isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” This could have confused the mother and made her leave, but instead, she responded with, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” Then he told her, “Because of this reply, you may go. The unclean spirit has left your daughter.”
