"The Word is near you," Moses says. and we say, "It's inaccessible! I can't find it!" It turns out we're like our children who can't find their shoes even when they're right there at their feet. We're people who can't pour water out of a bucket with instructions written on the bottom.
"I can't understand it!" we say. "No one does. We can't know the truth and the whole truth. Why bother? Why judge?" This is true only in a limited sense. I will never grasp how wide and long and high God's love is. I haven't swum the depths of the Word of God. It continually unfolds itself. But that doesn't mean it's not here, that I can't find God and his Christ.
